Getting More Facebook Page Likes can be Hard!! I know it first hand from my other business, Simple Gold Life. I had been struggling with it since its inception. I wanted to connect with people who were looking to simplify so they can enjoy their lives doing what they love, which in my case is travel!
Look, I’m going to be honest, I have a marketing background. I used to plan and spend millions of dollars for global brands, and I thought this-starting and growing my own business thing-was going to be a breeze.
Boy, was I wrong.
Once I started to promote my biz on social media, I felt like a huge loser. The corporate hangover of “sounding and acting professionally,” lingered in my head like the day after an all-night tequila binge. Every newsletter I typed felt like getting stabbed in the eye with a needle, my bones hurt as I made images, and most of my sentences made me want to vom!!
It’s hard to grow when I couldn’t say what I really wanted to say, talk how I really talk, and felt forced to share images that were “trendy.” All which weren’t me.
Today, I want to share with you how I got over the corporate hangover and ended up growing my page from an authentic place, PLUS all the tips that helped me get more followers organically.

Getting Clear on Who You Are
Common phrases you would hear from me used to be “Facebook isn’t showing my post to anyone.” “Ugh, the stupid algorithm is hiding my posts again!” But it really wasn’t Facebook’s fault. Although the algorithm does have some trigger words that will halt your reach, and if you act like a bot, FB will stop your posts from appearing in anyone’s feed, but the real issue here was me.
Like I mentioned above, I felt extremely constricted when I was sharing my content on social media. It was because the version of me that was climbing the corporate ladder was still steering the ship. I didn’t allow myself to play or have fun, and actually use my voice - hello throat chakra block! And I was hiding the bits of me that made me- Me! Talking about my spirituality, sharing my thoughts and ideas about podcasts I heard, using cuss words - these were all thrown out the window.
I was curating my feed to fuel other people, not fuel me - which is why it became so tedious and boring to me.
The truth is, before you show up anywhere- especially social media, you need to get grounded and realign to your soul’s purpose and feel confident in yourself.
That’s exactly what I did and the tension and resistance started to fade away.
And this is true for any place you’re showing up, whether it’s your podcast, Instagram, or your blog. If you don’t know, trust, and love yourself - it’s hard to establish yourself anywhere because you’ll always be worried about other people.
Knowing Your Audience to Grow A Following
Once I got clear on me, I did what any person would do… I put up my middle finger and turned off everything.
Unjoined groups, unliked pages, turned off my Newsfeed, and unsubscribed from a lot of newsletters. I then joined a few courses and began meshing new skills with my corporate know-how, which meant I had to go back to the beginning.
One of those tasks everyone talks about when you first launch your biz is a customer avatar or ideal target audience worksheets.
They are here to help get into the mindset of the person you truly are excited to help and know you can help. Getting clear on me, helped me get clear on her and I was finally able to get specific about her.
I named her, I got to know her, and imagined the problems she was struggling with and how I could help her by staying true to myself!
Trust me, your person-avatar, target audience, ideal client-whatever you want to call it, is one of the most critical parts of starting your business and it’s the key to authentic fb growth.
Not only did I create a page designed for her, I learned exactly what she wanted, but I also learned how to put social media on auto-pilot so I could go out and have fun every day!
Since everything has grown. My blog, my business, my reach, my engagement and my Facebook page audience grew!

1. Curating a page that attracts your audience
I followed these steps to curate a facebook business page that my ideal audience would love!
Everything about your Facebook page should call out to your customers. It should make them feel understood, and like they’ve finally found their people!
2. Creating Content that Your audience wants to Share
When you create content that speaks to your people, you’ll find that it’s more likely to go viral and get shared amongst more ideal customers.
The content should be engaging and feel totally relatable to your audience.

3. Using this trick to Invite Engaged Users to Like Your page

4. Post frequently and consistently
Growing a Facebook page organically is all about consistency and frequency! You should be posting every day and with a purpose! Testing different content ideas to see what resonates with your customers.
Once you do that, you’ll want to learn how to repurpose your content so you can continue to grow!
5. Sharing Content
Not only should you be sharing your content to your personal page, but you should also be sharing your posts into relevant groups on Facebook.
Not all groups allow for you to share content, so make sure you read the Group Rules and/or ask the group owner if you can.
If you can’t find any Groups related to your niche that allows content to be shared, you might want to start your own group for your business!
Plus you should be resharing your own popular posts and posts from relevant pages back to your own page!

How Implementing these simple steps grew my Facebook Page
In three months, I grew my page from 20 unengaged people to 3.5k engaged fans and they are growing. People love the page and the posts, which is why I’ve had multiple viral posts, one reaching as much as 359k people! And the page is still growing, despite endless Facebook algorithm changes.
So yes, Facebook is a great platform to launch your social media strategy with and build your online business.
